Bigger isn't always better, and ever though I love fishing with large attractor dry flies, scaling down a bit will often produce more fish in a variety of situations. A size 10 or 12 Stimulator, for instance, has a huge profile, and it takes a hungry fish to want to eat that on small to medium sized streams. In these instances, as well as when prospecting up small wild trout streams, a size 16 mini stimi is often the better choice.
