Introduction to judgement bias testing
In order to reduce aggression in pigs, Postdoctoral Researcher Lucy is measuring the impact of fighting on the emotional state of pigs using a judgement bias test. The pigs choose between a positive (chocolate and biscuits) or negative (the sound of a squeaky ball and a fan) stimulus, which lets Lucy and the team at Easter Howgate farm know how pessimistic or optimistic the pigs are.
