Social competence in pigs
Did you know that staff at SRUC's Easter Howgate farm are researching social competence in pigs? They're looking at positive and negative behaviours at an early age, to see how these influence the animals' welfare and productivity later in their lives. In this video, Research Technician Mark is recording how pigs react to a new toy, to see which pigs are bold and which are more timid. 🐖
