Applying security patches in a timely manner and upgrading to a newer release of an operating system are important aspects of ongoing system administration. FreeBSD includes a utility called freebsd-update which can be used to perform both these tasks.
Just freebsd-update fetch install command.
Sit back and relax because sometime it takes times depend on the size of security patches and your connection.
Boot environment (BE) also will be created automagically for you. In case, security update failed, you can go back to last useful BE.
