Long gone are the days that hundreds of crunches meant a good core workout. The good thing is because you’re core is a dynamic series of muscles that help you create movement through multiple planes of motion you’d be silly to just do one static exercise (cough…plank…cough). Get dynamic and have some fun these these three exercises.
1. Alternating Around the Body
2. Bottoms Up March
3. Alternating Windmill
Here’s how you’re going to structure this workout:
Grab a light kettlebell and set an interval timer for for 30 seconds on 30 seconds off. Complete the Alternating around the body for 30 seconds then rest. Then do the bottoms up march on one side and then rest. Lastly do the alternating windmilll and then rest. Come back through, but on the second round perform the other hand for the bottoms up march. Everything else stays the same. The workout will take you 18 minutes without a warm up or cooldown but feel free to shorten it to as few sets as you’d like. Aim for at least 15 minutes.
I love this workout for building not only core strength, but grip and shoulder strength as well.
