Banana Brandy | HOMEGROWN
In this video, I harvest homegrown bananas that are fermented using wild honey yeasts into a brandy. This video is part of an ongoing journey to master the art of brewing in a country that has repeatedly banned the sale of alcohol. South Africa recently went through a chaotic time where there were over 160 bottle stores raided in two provinces during a preiod where alcohol sales were banned.
This video is intended to empower YOU with knowledge and exposure to the complete process of taking a wine through distillation. At the end of the video, you should be familiar with the basic tools required to brew and distill your own alcohol and have some understanding of how it can be acheived at home.
I have been growing a special variety of bananas and these bunches are the first to be produced in the new field, so I am celebrating by turing them into moonshine. I aliken this to the old guys breaking a bottle on the mast of a ship ;)
This video is not a RECIPE for you too follow but rather a guide to the process of brewing for distillation.
