When 2 Enemies Became Friends
Franz Stigler and Charlie Brown were opposite sides. When Ye Olde Pub a B-17 piloted by Charlie was seemingly critically hit, Franz was there to intercept. He couldn't bring himself to fire upon the plane and in an amazing display of courage escorted the Pub across the German gun positions. The 2 men became friends in later life.
