Howdy y'all. So I was not planning on making this video originally, but after experiencing this, I just had to share this video. On April 8th, 2024, myself and millions of others around the Untied States, Canada and Mexico traveled to see the Great American Eclipse of 2024. Seeing totality in person was an amazing experience. Originally, I had made plans to see the eclipse in Erie, Pennsylvania since that was the closest location to me. After a sudden change in the weather, I completely changed my plans and was lucky enough to find a hotel that was still at a reasonable rate in southern New Hampshire in the City of Keene. I made plans to go to Burlington, Vermont the day of the eclipse, but the weather was becoming too unstable for my liking. So I went with my alternate location in Newport, Vermont, a whopping 15 minutes from the US/Canada border. The weather was perfect allowing myself and everyone that went to Newport to see the Eclipse in all its beauty. Newport's population is only about 4,400 residents. We easily quadrupled the town's population that day. Vermont officials estimated that they were going to see approximately 160,000 people visit their state, but now they believe the number was significantly higher due to the weather in surrounding states not being so great and many people doing what I had done. While there I talked to people who drove from Buffalo, NY because of the cloud coverage and a party of four who had originally made plans to go to Texas and made last minute changes to drive to Vermont. The morning of the eclipse, the 165 mile trek I made from Keene, NH to Newport, VT took about two hours and thirty minutes. This was with free flowing traffic moving at/above the speed limit. After the eclipse had ended, I packed up and started to make my way south back to my hotel. My return trip to Keene, NH took me six hours and forty-eight minutes to get back. I was in essentially a 130 mile long traffic jam of which I never saw a speed at the speed limit until I reached my exit and went west away from traffic. This video documents this traffic jam in its entirety. I sped up the video by 10x speed and have placed some classical music as background. Enjoy the show!!!
