Among these, representative practices scientifically proven effective include forgiveness, compassion, love, acceptance, gratitude, and respect.

This time, let us examine compassion.

Compassion begins with self-compassion, which involves caring for oneself with kindness and warmth.

Many studies show that while modern people are kind to friends and family, they are harshly strict with themselves. As a result, they often repeat negative thoughts and negative internal communication regarding themselves. This leads to a significant weakening of mental strength.

The essence of self-compassion is treating yourself kindly and warmly, just as you would treat a close friend well.

In the tradition of meditation, alongside Sati meditation, Metta meditation—or love-kindness meditation—forms the two major pillars. This video is a 19-minute summary of a lecture originally delivered on January 15, 2023, which lasted 1 hour and 48 minutes.
