F1 2021 (2021) - Every PC F1 Game
F1 2021 by Codemasters/Electronic Arts, 2021.
The 2021 Formula 1 game added a "Breaking Point" story mode, whilst removing the classic cars. It also added ray tracing, which makes things look a touch more realistic. However, it also harms the frame rate, so I've activated DLSS here (having an Nvidia 2070 SUPER), which helps but does create some offputting ghosting effects. I believe you can update the DLSS files to improve things, but I decided to leave it at default, to show how the game looks out-of-the-box, so to speak!
I should also add that I captured these clips early on, when the game was available for a free weekend; it has had a number of patches since then, so might look a little better now (but I tried the game and didn't notice a huge deal, apart from some extra anti-aliasing effects.
1. Race Start (Monza): 0:00 Lighting feels more dynamic here, with trees in particular looking much less flat than F1 2020.
2. Spray Effects (Silverstone): 0:35 The wet weather effects are somewhat underwhelming compared to F1 2020. The puddles look too bright (maybe it's a result of ray tracing), the spray has a bit of ghosting (almost certainly DLSS-related) and the spray looks less heavy than F1 2020.
3. Tunnel & View (Monaco): 0:51 Monaco REALLY suffers from DLSS ghosting, with spooky looking blurred, enlarged versions of the back of your car appearing in the shadows.
4. Wet Track (Spa-Francorchamps): 1:08 The lighting is a bit brighter here than F1 2020 (it might just be a less heavy rain shower), however the water droplets look a degree worse, with less sliding around than in the previous game.
5. Pitstop (Interlagos): 1:29 Force India became Aston Martin, so there's less pink here than F1 2020! The pace car got repainted too. Otherwise nigh-on identical to the previous game
6. Huge Crash (Montreal): 1:50 Crashes still haven't changed much since F1 2020. It's still quite hard to flip your car, and many accidents just resemble F1 pinball. It can be fun though!
