Your CV should highlight your skills and experience that are relevant to the job you are applying for AND the type of work you want to be doing. Be sure to include keywords from the job description throughout your CV.
Tailor your CV to the specific job:
Don't just send out the same CV to every job you apply for. Take the time to tailor your CV to each specific job. This means highlighting the skills and experience that are most relevant to the job, using keywords from the job description, and even thinking about what formatting you will use. Linda also shares a "Seasonal Wardrobe" technique that will help you write a good CV quickly.
Proofread your CV:
Before you submit your CV, be sure to proofread it carefully. Make sure there are no errors in grammar or spelling. Be sure that you are confident about numbers that you've added in your CV.
