Year 2417. The Earth disappeared nearly 400 years ago, and Valerian and Laureline may very well be the only two earthlings in the galaxy. While travelling in the vicinity of planet Atek, our two heroes are forced to make an emergency landing. When they set foot on Atek, they discover a civilization that lives without technology, banned on the planet centuries ago. And to their dismay, they realise their own electronic devices don’t work on the planet either, which means they can’t send out a distress signal. They’re stranded on Atek! They discover the machine that neutralises all electromagnetic waves on the planet, but it can only be deactivated for a brief instant. One of them will have to deactivate the machine while the other takes off on the spacecraft...they won’t be able to leave the planet together!
