JSON coding practical on Java and Python.
An essentials tutorial on JSON.
With this tutorial, you can understand and use JSON in everyday work easier.
In this video, we are going to talk about the fundamentals of JSON, how it works, how to use in different languages and how it integrates with REST API
JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) is a standard text-based format for representing structured data based on JavaScript object syntax.
However, JSON does not require JavaScript to or even knowledge of JavaScript to use.
It can be used independently from JavaScript, and many programming environments feature the ability to read (parse) and generate JSON.
A JSON once parsed is set of Key-Value pairs.
There is no limit to the number of Keys. And no limit to the values either. We will see how this looks shortly
Commonly used data types of similar structure are Java Map, Python Dict, Pel Hash etc
Parsing or reading JSON into a program is pretty easy with the vast number of libraries and parsers that are available for every language out there.
In JSON a key HAS to be a STRING. It has to be written in double quotes. Unlike normal variables name, a Key can contain spaces. But it is discouraged.
A JSON containing a JSON (nested JSON) is a beautiful feature that enables us to represent highly complex data easily.
That is why to view JSON’s I normally use an online editor.
