We are not always going to be capable of being our ‘favorite’ selves.
We’re not always going to be able to extend compassion and grace to others or to ourselves.
We’re not always going to be able to be our most put together, our most gracious, our most loving, our most supportive selves.
Some days, we’re going to be down. Triggered. Overwhelmed. Over it. Some days we’re going to be in a funk and not know why. Some days we’re going to be snappy, in pain, in a mental state we can’t shake that makes us a bit of a drag to be around.
And you know what all of this is a sign of?
It’s a sign that you’re a normal, functioning, living, breathing human.
The reality is, this self love path is all about learning to accept and embrace who and what we are in this moment, and learning to extend ourselves compassion.
It’s about realizing that we are all going to ‘eb and flow’ in our capacities, moods, ways of being and feelings - and that a lot of the time the only thing that makes these fluctuations something we have to ‘panic’ about is the fact that we are panicking about them.
In real reality, if we can just embrace the changeable nature of our beings, if we can make it safe that some days we’re going to feel and be able to be amazing and other days we aren’t - THAT is what we really need.
Embracing our humanity means embracing that we are always going to be inconsistent, and that that’s totally and completely normal and ok.
