Can Learning To Slow Down Do THIS For Us?
Learning to SLOW DOWN is one of the most powerful things most of us will ever do.
Our systems are all about the RUSH.
How much can we produce? How quickly can we get back to producing after taking a break?
How much can we consume? How quickly can we change the trends of what’s in and out to make sure we always have the ‘next thing’ to buy? How much can we make pleasure quick so that we always need something new to stimulate us?
Our culture is all about how it LOOKS on the surface - are you with someone? Do you have the right job? Are you wearing the right clothes? Can you make it LOOK like you are living how you are ‘supposed’ to be living?
In all of this, we are deeply conditioned to never actually BE in our experience.
We are deeply conditioned to never actually FEEL what we are feeling, to process our life experiences, to appreciate what we’re in and to assess whether or not what we’re creating is truly good for us - because there's simply no TIME to do any of these things.
When we learn to take ourselves BACK from these systems of rushing, when we learn how to take our time, how to not push forward at all costs and how to actually be where we are - we are going to discover a whole new world of experience that will likely leave us feeling MUCH more grounded and MUCH more satisfied than what we were doing before.
We will see that what we thought we were supposed to be getting out of the perpetual rushing was never going to come - and that the joy, freedom and happiness we want is ACTUALLY found in the slowing down and connecting to our humanity.
Learning to slow down is a massive cultural rebellion, and one that will give so many of us a taste of freedom we’ve never had before.
