Spring is here, and that means cherry blossoms! This painting has been on my list forever, and I'm so glad I finally got to it. We've got a bank of cherry blossom trees in the background along the edge of a lake, plus a big beautiful tree in the foreground - and the whole thing is way more beginner-friendly than it looks.
I kept this one simple and approachable because sometimes you just want to paint something pretty without overthinking it, you know?
In this tutorial, I'm walking you through:
Creating depth with background cherry blossom trees along a lake edge
Painting a bold foreground cherry blossom tree that frames the whole scene
Simple techniques for painting those iconic pink cherry blossoms without getting fussy
Building a peaceful lake and reflections that complement your trees
Why this spring scene is perfect for beginners and won't stress you out
This is one of those paintings where you can relax and just enjoy the process. The techniques are straightforward, the colors are fun, and you end up with something that actually looks like spring. Perfect for getting back into painting or just enjoying a chill session.
