My first effort at video game design. Considering that PONG was new in the 1970s, it seems I'm about 50 years behind on the gaming curve.

I built fifteen robots based on the "5 minute bot" design for a summer day camp program in 2021. In the day camp, kids were going to be cycled through in 45 minute sessions, so they wouldn't have time to build or program anything. It was long enough, however, to show them what the bot was capable of. I modified the design by adding touch and sound sensors, and added mounting points for ultrasonic and light sensors. Then I programmed the bots with a dozen different programs, all based on a "Mission to Mars" theme, which utilized every sensor mentioned above.

While working with the bot, I concluded that it had outstanding potential for a small gaming device, given the shape and "feel" of it, so I pondered what kind of game best suited the design, and remembered PONG. The rest is [ancient] video game history.

The robots were the biggest hit at the camp.
