You think everyone in the world who’s pursued their passion and made a great life got there exactly the same way? Hells no! If you want to do something with your life that makes you truly happy, you get to choose how you get there.
Take DJ for example. He’s from Nampa, ID and, wait for it, he didn’t go to college. In high school, he’d found out he had a passion for design, photography and videography. He was officially a student at Skyview High School, but they didn’t offer courses that would let him explore his interests. So every day he’d go from Skyview to Nampa High to take web design classes, then out to Columbia High to take broadcasting classes. That’s how you pursue your passion and learn as much as you can about it!
DJ also go himself a gig working for local news stations before he graduated. He was able to see how the thing he loved actually worked in the real world. So yeah, maybe he didn’t continue his education in the traditional ways, but he sure as hell got an education that he could apply to his life goals.
And it didn’t stop there. After he graduated he started his own design business. Long story short, it failed in a bad way. But, he got up, pulled himself together and kept sharpening his skills. Eventually, that road led him into a head-on collision with Buck The Quo! He’s one of the people making the magic happen.
So where’s DJ gonna be in 5 years? We don’t know, it’s possible he doesn’t even know. But wherever it is, he’ll have gotten there by following what he loves and cutting his own path. Guaranteed.
