Breast Reconstruction After Mastectomy
What are breast reconstruction options after a mastectomy? After a total mastectomy there are two options. There are breast implants reconstruction and an octologist approach. The later uses the patients' own tissue to re develop the breasts. There are benefits and drawbacks of both of these treatment methods. Certain things force the doctors' hand into the decision that the patient has to make. When a patient needs radiation treatment it forces less implants and more natural approaches. Breast reconstruction is more than just surgery. It impacts the patient's body image of selves and how they preform their own daily activities.
