Kaspersky Deletes Itself, Installs Surprise Antivirus
After The U.S. banned sales and updates of Kaspersky software starting September 29, 2024 over security risks, Kaspersky abruptly removed its antivirus from U.S. computers, replacing it with UltraAV.
Users reported unexpected UltraAV installs, fearing malware attacks due to sudden changes without prior alerts. While Kaspersky emailed customers about continued protection with UltraAV, they did not mention the abrupt software deletion and replacement.
