Mapping Meshtastic Nodes Worldwide
I recently came across a map of Meshtastic nodes worldwide, created by receivers sharing packets they see with a central database.
Because volunteers around the world have set their meshtastic nodes to forward packets over MQTT, a distributed, historical map of nodes can be created! This map shows GPS coordinates of nodes, including one I placed at Null Space Labs. It also shows historical temperature and location data going back a week!
Looking at location data allowed me to map the path of a flight I took via the nodes on the ground receiving my packets and adding them to the map.
