Is Descript a good video editing option for content creators?
As a longtime Adobe Premiere Pro user, I wanted to give the @Descript platform a try; I think it can be a great tool to help people get started creating content (whether video or audio-only).
I downloaded the program and created this entire video 100% within Descript, recording my camera and microphone directly into the software and editing it like a Google Doc... no setting up my camera, recording, then transferring the files to my computer and importing them into Premiere.
There were a few things that will take some getting used to, but this is an excellent option for people who have no experience with software like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut and want to just start creating content. With a little bit more time learning the nuances of using this vs what I'm used to, I think it could expedite a bunch of the tedious parts of video editing, even for experienced video editors.
