Clap Your Hands Say Yeah: "Goodbye to Mother and the Cove", arranged by David Handler
Reimagined by (Le) Poisson Rouge founder David Handler and performed with Ensemble LPR, this concert featured unique arrangements of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah material for a string quartet. Alec Ounsworth, better known as indie icon Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, joined the LPR X season for a unique chamber concert that challenged popular and classical concert convention.
Handler takes a page from Debussy's book for this arrangement, utilizing pizzicato (plucked string technique) on all but one instrument, to capture the infectious groove of the original.
