How to #factor #quadratics when a does not equal 1. i.e. there is a number in front of the x² term.
The questions look like this: ax² + bx + c. The answers look like this: (ax + ?)(x + ?) where the numbers that take the place of the question marks multiply to the "c". Then re-FOIL the factors to check if the inners and outers add to the "b" (x) term.
When learning, it may be a good idea to list all the pairs of numbers that multiply to the "c" (constant) term.
