Ran Lahav interviews Miriam Picozzi from the Deep Philosophy Group, who explains what inspired her in the philosopher Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965), and his idea of “Reverence for Life.”
Schweitzer developed his philosophy of “Reverence for Life” when he was working as a medical doctor in his remote hospital in Africa. As he later explained: “The fundamental fact of human awareness is this: ‘I am life that wants to live in the midst of other life that wants to live’.”
Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) was a French-German philosopher, musician, and medical doctor, who became famous for his humanitarian activities in West Africa, for which he received the Nobel Prize.
