How to change Facebook video thumbnail 2018

Have you ever recorded a video on Facebook and the picture that comes up afterwards isn't quite right. Maybe your eyes are shut. And you want to change what's called the thumbnail to go with
it. I'll show you how easy that is to do in this video. Here we go.
So this is a video that I recorded live on my Facebook page but it could also be one that you've uploaded directly to Facebook. if you were just to do the standard method of editing the post by
clicking on the three dots all you can do is edit the post however if you go and find in the section here marked videos
on the page and also in groups as well this applies.
It doesn't apply to your personal Facebook account but certainly
there should be a videos option in any public page or group you've created . So here we've got it a live video demo
today.
So I can click on the link to the video I've paused that and now I can click on the three dots here and here I could say edit video and you can see instantly there's a thumbnail option
here so if I select that box go and see whether there's any other images available.
So normally it should generate up to ten different images in this case there's only one available so it's a bit limiting But there is an opportunity to customize the image so I can click on
one and upload one that I'd rather have myself. So with only the one image available maybe I'll look at a different video.
Let's see if I can change that one and do the same again edit video click on thumbnail and at least I've got two images to choose from. And can click between the two and I'll click
Save. The other way you can access your video content on your page is to go to publishing tools and under videos say
video library.
And again you can select the particular one you want to edit.
Let's try this one here. I'll give the basic video details if I click here and say actions edit video I can select thumbnail
and in this case and this is what I expected to see the previous time up to ten images should be generated during the video so I can go through and choose any one of these as an alternative
As I say you can still if you have some thing you use perhaps on YouTube channel or something like that this consistent template you can have a thumbnail. I create mine in canva.com and I've got other videos on that if you want to take a look. So you're not stuck with the first thumbnail there's at least two options one is to choose a different one from what Facebook's chosen the other one is to upload a separate image.
