Timely Euro Data Bombshell May Turn The Tables on EURUSD

We’re in for a week of market-moving data, with recent CPI results and GDP updates impacting volatility. Australian CPI released this morning shows higher-than-expected quarterly numbers, yet core inflation remains mixed. The Australian dollar spiked initially against the USD but retraced to trade lower, reflecting market uncertainty.

Today’s big events include Eurozone data, with GDP releases from France, Spain, Germany, and the Euro area, as well as the U.S. GDP later tonight. Expect movements if GDP figures in Europe surprise, especially with French and Spanish GDP forecasts anticipated at 0.3% and 0.6%, respectively. If Germany’s GDP comes in lower than the predicted -0.1%, we may see further Euro declines.

For EUR/USD traders, it’s crucial to watch the consolidation range between 1.0740–1.0870, as a break on either side could set new directional momentum. Given the ongoing U.S. election buzz, with Trump considered a frontrunner, a Trump loss could shock markets, especially as several major financial institutions and betting markets are banking on his victory.

This election cycle could resemble 2016, where early results initially drove up the Euro. Yet, as Trump’s lead grew, the market pivoted. With traders and analysts closely watching, a Trump loss could result in significant volatility across major pairs.
