Hey there ! ✌️
I'm delighted to share in this project I've had in mind for a long time!
It's the result of this year's experimentation and progress on #reallusion #iClone and #unrealengine , I hope you'll have a good time :)
🎻The reference song is of course Johnny Cash's "Bury me not on the Lone Prairie" (1965).
The basic character model is Angel Alonso's (@angelalonso3266), hand-animated to the beat of the music, with a bit of mocap in iClone, all pushed to Unreal Engine 5.3., and the shipwreck is by Inky_Eric (@Sketchfab ). Includes also a bit of @WilliamFaucher 's Easy Fog for ambiance.
I was a fan of the idea of a slightly absurd sequence shot, in which disasters pile up, but our castaway keeps his cool and his nostalgia, until the inevitable happens.
From the squaring of assets, to blockout, to the rendering of the final cut, this represented about twenty hours of somewhat scattered work, but I'm still amazed at how easily an idea comes to life, is calculated and can remain visually faithful to the initial concept with the Unreal ecosystem.
It's a first attempt in this kind of short movie, so there's still a lot to refine, but it's definitely the direction I'd like to take for the rest of my short films. So all your feedback and notes are good to take, to help me go further.
If you'd like to discuss a professional project like this one, I'd be delighted to hear from you!
🌶️Best,
