Another beautiful day out today as we headed out early in the morning for the long 3hr drive to the Glow Worm tunnel and Pagoda Circuit track in Wollemi National Park. This is a stunning 9km loop walk that passes through the popular 400m long Glow Worm tunnel. This tunnel, cut out in the mountains in 1907, once ran an active train line for Newnes Oil Shale mining. The tunnel is now visited by tourists to see the light show displayed by the many thousands of glow worms that inhabit the damp walls
I highly recommend taking on the full loop trail which is around 9km and passes some pretty scenic areas overlooking Wollemi National park.
Take note there is a descent climb back up Pagoda track however you will be pleasantly entertained by the beautiful sounds coming from Bellbirds.
