Asaad Kalasho was born in Telkaif and grew up in an educational and disciplined household where he learned the ethics of hard work. As a result, when he came to America in 1978, he quickly succeeded as an entrepreneur. Roughly 30 years ago he founded the Kalasho Foundation. Over the years, he and his family founded many enterprises including KEYs Grace Academy.
