So what is organisational design? Is it simply about structure? Well, I'm not so sure. So stay with us on this video and we'll explain more.

Hi, welcome to the Let's Talk Talent channel where we discuss the world of HR and talent management. We're here to help you unlock the potential in your people.

Organisational design boils down to two things: right positions, right people. And when you think about people, you think about their potential and their performance, right? And when you think about positions, you think about whether it's business critical; it's pivotal, is it adding the right value? And by putting the two together, you know where your gaps and opportunities are. If you only focus on positions, then you're just focused on structure, right? And structure is nebulous. It doesn't take into a
fact, people's collaboration, ways of working, how it links to the customer proposition. New products, services, innovation. If you only look at people, then you're just building out organisational development.

So performance management, L&D, career pathways... Organisational design ultimately pulls positions and people together. It enables you to
really ask the right questions, and sometimes make some tough
decisions. So when you're thinking about organisational design, don't think about it just in positions, and people. Think about how the two combine together. Because then you'll make the right decisions. You'll have the right conversations with your leadership team, your CEO, and ultimately, your board.

Because if you don't have the right structure, you can't scale, you can't become innovative, and you won't be here. So it's really, really important that you get it right. We're here to help you.
