How to remove members of Facebook group
HI Paul here from PRwilson Media. Now if you run a Facebook group and there's a particular member in that group that's not following the rules of the group, posting too much spam, maybe just posting too often it's good to know that there's an easy process for removing them from the group. Or alternately even just muting them for a short period of time. Here's how it's done.
So here I am in my own social media training group and I've found the member in question. Mr Peter Wilkins and these are the options I've got presented to me. Under these 3 dots. You can make them admin, make them a moderator of the group but here you've got the option, remove from group. Or a temporary measure to mute the member. But they won't be able to post for a period of time, so that could be one hour , six hours , 12 hours or 24 hours. Select what you want and then click mute.
From that members perspective they won't be able to see the post box for a period of time and then it will be available again. OK but now you've decided enough is enough it's time to look at removing them from the group entirely. Again do the search , click on the 3 dots and select remove from group. You can actually then delete any posts from recent , delete any comments decline any people that have been invited because a member might be on there and inviting far too many people that you don't really know or want in the group . You can go a step further and say block member which means they will no longer be able to find , see or rejoin the group. Apply the changes to other groups that you manage
So you can actually any group that Peter is in you can put that across the piece so if they are a real trouble maker you can remove them from so many. So lots of different options. I'm just going to say with no additional options for now, will just say remove from group and in that way in this case Peter would be able to request to rejoin and would be accepted. Whereas if you go down the block route or all of the banning procedure then you are basically stopping that person ever returning to your group.
So lots of great options. Again the way Facebook is going a lot of more subtle ways to address issues. For someone who is posting too much just calm them down a bit , maybe send a message to them and just let them know.
