Like Tomorrow Never Comes [Andy - 3' equitation]
Long time, no posts.
Adult life is certainly more busy and less fun than college life.
But at least I can still keep riding in my life. It's tough but I make it work - sometimes at the expense of sleep.
This is Andricus (Andy) - I don't know that I've formally introduced him on my YouTube account. I leased him for a few months last summer and we got along really well and I loved him. Since I've moved up to the adult (3') hunter and equitation we thought he'd be a good option for me. Andy is more of an equitation horse so I didn't do the hunters with him at my last show. This last show was my first time in the 3' since my jumper days and to be quite frank - back then I didn't really know how to ride effectively. And while I love jumpers my heart has always been with the equitation. So this move to the adult equitation has been a very long time coming. I've worked very hard for it and even spent a couple years rebuilding at 2'6 after moving barns to ensure that I could safely navigate at 3'. This show was a lot of fun. I was very nervous and in my head the first day (that's when all of these clips were taken) so we had a bit of a rough day, but the second day I came back confident and with a clear head and we won all three equitation classes and took champion for the day!
Now I'm finally where I've wanted to be and I love it so much. Andy is such a fantastic horse and I am so lucky to be able to lease him. I miss Oliver but I still get to see/ride him when I want to and I may take him for a spin through the 3' hunters at some point this year :) I'm so excited for this show season on Andy! Can't wait to see where it takes us!
