The animals are kept as free-roaming willow pigs in summer as well as in winter. they growe in cork oaks and holm oaks groves. There they are fattened with acorns and so the meat gets a special taste and is different from normal pork.
The Iberian pig is smaller and nimbler as the normal pig and has a darker skin color.
The Iberian pork is a delicacy in Spain and Portugal and is often eaten as the air dried Iberian ham (Spanish Jamón Ibérico).
