Want to master solving systems of equations fast? 💡 In this full Algebra 1 lesson, I’ll show you the elimination method when you need to multiply BOTH equations. This math hack makes it easy to find the solution (x, y) without getting stuck. We’ll walk through multiple examples step by step so you can crush homework, quizzes, and tests.

It is also called solve by addition (or subtraction) because you add the equations to "eliminate" a variable. Then substitute that value into one of the equations and solve for the other variable.
Sometimes, when you add the equations, none of the variables are eliminated. In that case, multiply one (or more) of the equations by a factor, so that when you add, one of the variables will be eliminate. When trying to identify which variable to eliminate look for the least common multiple of the coefficients. Make sure that they are opposites, that way, when you add straight down, they will be eliminated.

This video could work for #Algebra students who were absent, or in a flipped classroom.
