Efficient Fuel: Dried Kelp Block System - Simple Kelp Farm & Smokers
Improve the output and inventory efficiency by turning your other fuel sources into dried kelp blocks today! I didn't notice that they have the highest number of operations per inventory slot except for coal blocks - turns out, they're pretty sweet!
I forgot to mention - it's also useful to keep it running continuously to minimize the number of smokers needed, so you don't generally have to process massive batches all at once; and there's no need to make it too tall because they won't grow very high before you harvest them - seems like I could have built this with only ~4-5 blocks height for kelp to grow without loosing any speed at this size.
I got the rates wrong - I think they were from an early estimate: 18 smokers should be 12,960 items/hour for 22.5 stacks of dried kelp blocks/hour. This gives ~7.5 stacks/hour from 1 lane of 7x96 blocks processed through 6 smokers.
