A glacier on Svalbard
In late summer 2022, we anchored in Ymerbukta. In front of us we saw the mighty glacier front of Esmarkbreen. An icy wind blew towards us from the glacier. Suddenly the silence was cut by a deep roaring thunder. Somewhere along this broad glacier front, the ice broke. The glacier was calving.
I was not able to record the sudden rumble. In my video I use the sound recorded by joe (https://freesound.org/people/jeo/) in front of the Recherchebreen glacier.
