Chapter 6: Camera Movement
No matter how stylish it may feel, a camera move without purpose and/or poorly executed can undermine otherwise excellent material.
However, camera movement should be as motivated and purposeful as composition, shot size, and angles.
A thoughtful director justifies the purpose of the moving camera – a sign of substance over style. Style becomes a tool backed by purpose, not for its own sake.
