2012 Model Caregiver Awards - Halimah Dalimi, Model Caregiving Domestic Helper Merit Award
Halimah has been with her employer's family for six years, caring for two boys with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. One of the boys has since passed on, so the 41-year-old from Indonesia now juggles her time between looking after 28-year-old Rafi, and managing all household chores including cooking for the family. Halimah also accompanies Rafi to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Singapore twice a week for enrichment programmes. Her dedication to her job and love for her care recipient is evident as she is determined to stay on even after her six-year term comes to an end, and to look after Rafi for as long as he is around.
