An arithmetic sequence is a numerical pattern that increases or decreases at a constant rate called the common difference. Each value in a sequence is called a term.
In other words, you add or subtract the same amount to each term. The amount that you add or subtract is "d" the common difference.
Recursive Formula:
a(1) = the first term
a(n) = a(n-1) + d
*the parenthesis can also be subscripts*
What does the formula mean?
Start with a(1), then add (or subtract) "d" to find the next term.
