We now return to sampling but in a slightly different context. We’ll be using samples as a point of departure instead of the final destination. In this lesson we will take a tiny snippet (micro sample) of a longer audio file to resample as a waveshape to act as the sound generation source in a synthesizer. This time instead of drawing in the waveform from scratch we’ll use an algorithm within Serum to calculate all of the appropriate overtones. From there we can edit the waveshape to our hearts content like we did before when we drew in the waveshape from scratch.
