Is it possible to love the city of Lodz, Poland?- Part 2
So, the continuation of our adventures in the city of Łódź. You can see the first part at the link above.
Now we are at the end of Piotrkowska Street, the longest in Europe.
When the temperature rises above 30 degrees, water arches and cooling fountains are installed in the streets of Polish cities.

This is where modern housing starts. The 80-meter-high Red Tower business center blends interestingly with the architecture of the old city.
The mural "Łódź", which symbolizes the city. In Polish, "Łódź" means boat. In this street art, a boat sails on the paving stones around the main landmarks of the city. If you look closely, you can see the windows of this building.
This multicolored design is the Centralna streetcar stop. Popularly it is also called the Unicorn's Nest. Why such a name? All because of the local inhabitants of the area. And here is the main representative of Unicorns of Łódź.
The history of this attraction is very recent. A couple of years ago, a streetcar stop in the form of a rainbow and airy structure was renovated. In this connection the initiative of the citizens to establish unicorns themselves near this stop was born.
This unusual monument made of metal was made by a Japanese craftsman at the request of the city authorities for 90 thousand euros. It was opened at the beginning of June 2019.
The fact that Łódź is an industrial city, you will immediately remember, turning from the main street of the city. There are many non-tourist streets here, to put it mildly, in a deplorable condition with an unpleasant smell. I think that's why some people think that there is nothing to see in the city. But we know that everywhere you can find amazing and atmospheric locations.
And here is the birthplace of industry in Łódź - Księży Młyn (The Princely Mill). Once there was a mill settlement of the abbot of Łódź, hence the name of the area. And it was here in 1824 built textile mills (mainly cotton spinning) and infrastructure for the workers of these factories. In one place there is a housing estate for workers with two-storey houses, factory shops, a fire station, a hospital, a free school, a palace complex and a park with a pond.
Nowadays this compact residential and industrial area, an unusual "city within a city", is one of the most interesting industrial monuments in the world.
Next to Księży Młyn there is a picturesque lake. Here you can cool off nicely on a hot day.
And here is the main commercial and entertainment place in Lodz - the Manufaktura. There used to be a textile factory. I have a video of this biggest shopping center in Poland, if you haven't seen it, you can watch it.
Just at the time of the shooting there was the European Football Championship, the Hungarian and French teams were playing. Cool idea to broadcast the matches on Manufaktura Square in front of the summer city beach. And the fans are there.
Even though it's very hot, we were hungry. Today instead of the traditional kebab there will be pizza.
As you can see, there are plenty of fountains and cafes on Manufaktura Square. Though crowded, but very cozy and colorful place. As you have seen, in summer the beach with sun loungers is organized here, often volleyball competitions are held. And in winter, there is an ice rink and a Christmas market.
An unusual sculpture "Teddy Bear" by French artist Ilan Annouf. It appeared on Manufaktura Square a year ago. Similar teddy bears stand in Monaco, Saint-Tropez and New York. This teddy bear is designed to unite people and evoke positive emotions.
Today we did not have time to show all the interesting places in the city. For example, the botanical garden, the palmarium, the museum of cinematography. But still, the trip was successful.
