Hey, it’s Matt! Today, I’m going to show you how to remove the Threads badge from your Instagram profile.
Right now, I’m on my filmmaking lifestyle Instagram page, and you can see that little Threads symbol right here. It’s a button that links to my Threads account.
Honestly, I just opened it, and there’s not much happening there. If you want to get rid of that badge, it’s pretty straightforward.
When you create a Threads account through Instagram, it automatically adds that badge. But don’t worry, I’ll show you how to remove it.
The easiest way to do this is to click on the “Edit Profile” button. I’m doing this on desktop because it’s just easier to show you here, but you can definitely do it on mobile too.
So, once you’re in the edit profile section, scroll down a bit. You’ll see an option for “Show Threads Badge.” All you need to do is uncheck that box.
Super simple, right? Once you uncheck it, you’ll notice a message at the bottom saying that your settings have been saved automatically.
There’s no extra save button or anything. Just click it again to double-check, and it should still be unchecked.
Now, let’s head back to my Instagram profile to see if the button is gone. I’ll click on my profile, and just like that, the button is no longer there.
It’s disappeared! And that’s it!
That’s how you remove the Threads badge from your Instagram account. You can do this on both mobile and desktop, wherever you’re logged in.
