Working on a remake of my old multiplayer map that I released almost 25 years ago.
In this stream I finally finish the texture work for the map. To be honest there's not too much to talk about here; it's all very by-the-numbers stuff at this point. There weren't too many textures to work with for the Alien Hive and the Predator Temple, but they're also much more flexible with structural interpretation than the more "realistic" "grounded" Marine Base.
I will say one of the difficulties with working with RIFs and Inteng is that you can't really control what tris are merged into quads. Sure, much of the time you'll get lucky and it follows the topology of your Blend file, but not always. Most notable are the awkward angled quads across what should be a grid pattern. This caused me a lot of problems in the Predator Hangar, where I wanted to tile a specific quarter of the ship01 texture in spots, but couldn't due to the way CCAMain / Inteng chopped up the modules' faces. I also had the same issues in the room with the hanging bodies.
Sometimes you just have to play the hand you've been dealt. I think I still made the whole of the map work.
I had to mute the whole stream because I decided to listen to the movie music instead of the game music and Fox came back from the dead to block it. Sorry!
