Egg donation is legal throughout the United States. When women donate through local clinics or frozen egg banks, they sign legal consent forms. When they donate through agencies, they have contracts and legal representation.
Sanford explains the basic logistics of the contract: its purpose, its timing, how it is drafted, and how mutual anonymity is maintained. The egg donor contract is in the category of a personal services contract: it does not legally compel either party to proceed, but memorializes the terms of the arrangement.
