Bring Science Alive! Ecosystems Program Highlight
Bring Science Alive! Ecosystems is a program built from the ground up to align to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the Common Core Standards.
In this program, students will integrate physical, Earth, and life science knowledge to discover how the matter that makes up their body has cycled through Earth's ecosystems for billions of years, making it possible that an atom of carbon in their body was once exhaled by a dinosaur! Students will understand how changes to a wetland ecosystem can threaten nearby human communities with flooding and cause changes in biodiversity. And how to elimination of a single species can affect an entire tundra ecosystem. As a result, students will never look ecosystems--as large as the Amazon rainforest or as small as a local pond--in the same way.
Bring Science Alive! Ecosystems is going to make students an expert on healthy ecosystems and what they do. Students will be able o dazzle their friends and family with their knowledge. Better yet, students will develop a passion for protecting the fragile Earth. That's exactly what the educators and scientists who developed NGSS had in mind.
