Hi, thanks for watching this video. It’s from our Snapchat account so it doesn’t have sound like a traditional video. This particular clip talks about Smithsonian Renwick Gallery.
Today we’re at the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery in Washington, DC.
The gallery recently reopened and is housing a new exhibit called Wonder.
With pieces like this from Tara Donovan. These are index cards.
Or this one by Gabriel Dawe.
These snaps don’t give it justice. You have to come see it.
The Renwick also houses Patrick Dougherty’s willow saplings.
You can actually get into the art.
This piece by Janet Echleman is a map.
Wonder if defined as constriction and suspension of the heart caused by amazement at the sensible appearance of something so portentous, great, and unusual, that the heart suffers a systole. - Saint Albertus Magnus, 13th century
And it’s on the roof.
We found Batman!
The gallery is part of the Smithsonian network and entrance is free of charge.
