Hi, thanks for watching this video. It’s from our Snapchat account so it doesn’t have sound like a traditional video. This particular clip talks about Smithsonian Air and Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center.

Today we’re at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum at Udvar-Hazy Center.

The museum displays aircraft from different periods in history.

The hangar has a lot of planes. A lot!

The SR-71A Blackbird is one of the coolest things to see at the museum.

Here’s a Sikorsky HH-52A from the Coast Guard.

More on this coming up…

This is the commercial flight section of the hangar.

They also have a Concorde.

Here’s the view from above.

The museum also has a vertical flight section.

This Kellett XO-60 was tested by the Army Air Forces in the 1940s.

This engine once powered a Boeing 777-300.

It’s pretty powerful.

Close, but we’re not there yet…

Air and Space also houses aircraft from World War 2.

Like this Republic P-47D Thunderbolt.

Finally, we made it!

This is the Space Shuttle Discovery.

It went on 133 missions from 1981-2011.

It lives now at the museum.

These engines used to take astronauts to space.

Air and Space is open throughout the year and admission is free of cost.

The museum is located near Dulles International Airport in Virginia.

Smithsonian Institution National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is less than an hour from Washington D.C. Plan a visit today!

See you next time!
