Amrita's Beach Cleanup Drive at Alappad
As part of the "Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar" campaign, volunteers from Amrita School for Sustainable Future and Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara conducted a beach cleanup at Vellanathuruthu Beach in Alappad. Over 100 volunteers participated in the initiative, collecting 13 sacks of plastic waste within two hours. The campaign, organized under India’s Ministry of Earth Sciences, aims to promote sustainable development and ocean conservation. Local leaders, including Alappad Panchayat President U. Ullas, and faculty members from Amrita led the cleanup. Principal Dr. Ravishankar emphasized the role of educational institutions in promoting sustainability.
