The Cryptids Series Overview & Trailer
The Cryptids in an animated show concept about cultural representation, action and the creation of found family. It takes place in a fantastical version of Earth based in the 1800s, in which mythological creatures roam freely and the characters travel throughout the world on missions. The original series concept has been developed by Burbank High School Animation production team, with members utilizing a variety of skills in their production roles as historian, writer, storyboard artist, character designer, world builder, animators and production manager, in order to create a show pitch, season synopsis and episode animatic. Created by Elodie Lambert, Tatev Minasian, Ashe Angelos, Josh Fraley, Arpine Prusalyan and Elliette Jones, as a Series Development Nickelodeon Mentorship Team.
Screened at the 2023 Burbank High School Animation BASh!at Nickelodeon. Finalist in the the Aesthetic Non-Fiction Category at the 2023 California Student Media Festival, and won Special Category Media and Literacy Award.
